2023.9.1 Microsoft announced:

WordPad is no longer being updated and will be removed in a future release of Windows. We recommend Microsoft Word for rich text documents like .doc and .rtf and Windows Notepad for plain text documents like .txt.

Since the release of Windows 95 in 1995, 

it has been automatically installed on Windows systems, 

providing users with a basic word processor editor integrated into the operating system.

WordPad is a classic application on Windows.

However, because of the existence of Notepad and Word, WordPad is not used frequently. This adjustment has little impact.
